I'm not sure exactly what location the Post Properties is proposed for but from the sign in the picture it looks this will have some subsidized housing in it.

More Midtown updates:

In NW midtown a large parking garage with ground floor retail has topped off and across the street a 3-4 story retail/restaurant/meeting space building has topped off. These buildings are located north of the intersection of Pierce st (just north of grey st) and Bagby. I'm not sure if the parking garage is just for patrons or perhaps for apartments and patrons because it seems large just for patron parking.

Inner Looped: Scout Square:

Hmmm, doesnt seem to be street level friendly, but oh well, at least its adding a tower to the sea of suburbia thats to the west of Reliant Stadium. I looked it up on google maps, and its not too close to the medical center, but I guess its close enough for emergencies if the old folks need it.

Astroworld site sees signs of life

Read More: http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/p...fe.html?page=2

Quote:
After more than a year of quiet on the former Astroworld site, it appears now development plans are in the works.

A Lincoln Property Co. sign has gone up on the empty site, which lies on the south side of the South Loop, between Kirby and Fannin. The Mallick Group of Fort Worth acquired the 104 acres of vacant land in May 2010, without concrete intentions for the former site of the iconic amusement park, which closed in 2005.

The developer of Regent Square, a proposed mixed-use project at Dunlavy and Allen Parkway, said the company is "in discussions with several significant tenants."

Luxury apartments are also being considered for the site, according to John Darrah of Boston-based GID Urban Development Group.

Post Oak Central considers major retail expansion

The owner of the Post Oak Central office campus is considering expanding the three-building complex by adding new structures on the 2-acre park that sits at its high-profile entrance.

Crescent Real Estate Equities LLC is looking at developing space for retail shops, restaurants, a conference center, cafeteria and fitness facility in front of the 1.2 million-square-foot complex in the Galleria area. The construction idea comes at a time when new commercial developments are popping up all around the 17-acre complex, the last office building of which was completed 31 years ago.

Gables Bering Condos

Quote:
This upscale mixed-use development, located in the prestigious Tanglewood area, just west of Houston's Galleria area. The 8-story concrete frame building will include a spectacular rooftop pool terrace with a club room and outdoor living room, with views of the Galleria and Uptown Houston.
The design carefully integrates a detailed brick and masonry facade, acknowledging the soft pastel color palette of the surrounding Mediterranean heritage of Tanglewood. Bering adds a dose of luxury apartment living and boutique retail to activate the street scene of this upscale urban development.

Look like "Eado" will be getting a craft brewery that will be opening a few blocks from the dynamo stadium

Craft Brewery Coming to Eado

"Coming soon to EaDo will be a new craft brewery for all you Houston beer lovers! Opening for the 2011 holiday season, they will be brewing four initial varieties… an alternative Amber Ale, an IPA (India Pale Ale), a Blonde Ale, as well as custom orders for bars and restaurants around the state. While this is great news for Houston beer fanatics, it’s even better for EaDo because this brewery will be near the new Dynamo Stadium and should serve as a good foundation for future nearby development..."
