Ah crap, and here we are playing Scrivens (the goalie with the best NHL stats on the Leafs this season)...

Btw Thanks guys on the last page for proving my point.

Evgeni Malkin: 105 pts in 73 games (118 pts pace over 82 games)
Sidney Crosby: 34 pts in 20 games (139 pts pace over 82 games)

Crosby is on a 111 assists pace...

Canucks and Ducks game tonight looks like 2 bad teams playing out the string. Canucks pull Luongo and then score 2 to tie it back up at 4 after 2.

I wonder if Canucks fans booing Luongo off the ice is a sign of things to come~

I think there is a segment of fans that realize that Luongo with his no trade clause probably isn't going anywhere and that we're bound to lose Schneider this off season, so they've taken it upon themselves to boo him hard every chance they get with the hope that Luongo will want out of Vancouver, request a trade and waive his clause. Not sure it'll work, also not sure there would be many teams all that interested in him anyways with his salary.

Canucks win 5-4 in a shoot-out in a terribly played game.

I think Ferraro said it perfectly (reading between the lines) - Schneider is stronger than Luongo, both technically and psychologically. He's just super solid, at least as a back up. He hasn't proven himself as a starter so I think Gillis could resign him for a reasonable price. It's obvious who the better goaltender is.

I f-ing hate the shootout. It's almost completely turned me off hockey ever since they've implemented it. Just seems so gimmicky. Nothing wrong with tied games imo. Another thing... I actually have difficulty wrapping my head around the wins/losses numbers in the standings - like how most teams have a winning record. WTF?

personally I like how the Panthers have an extra 18 points just for losing in OT.

They don't. Even in the days of a tie, they would have gotten those points.

MONTREAL - Montreal Canadiens goalie Carey Price has been diagnosed with mild concussion and will miss the rest of the season.

The Habs made the announcement Wednesday after the 24-year-old was examined by the team's physician.

Price has been suffering from headaches since teammate David Desharnais landed on him during a 2-on-1 drill in practice late last week.

It's ironic how the smallest player on our team caused that.

Well, the biggest player would have had a skull cracked open.

Looks like the refs from the Rugby World Cup were doing the Buffalo-Toronto game last night.

I've never seen a more obvious case of the stripes trying to keep a team's season alive. 11 seconds of a pileup in front of the Leafs net, puck nowhere in sight, but no whistle. In fact, after that 11 second scrum, when the puck in the net the ref only noticed it went in the net after the goal horn came on, then he signalled it was a good goal! Absolutely awful. And that's ignoring the fact that the powerplays were 5-1 in favour of the Sabres.

If this game meant anything I would be furious.. But if I were a Caps fan I would definitely be pissed, especially if they lose out to Buffalo when the Sabres should have been eliminated already. Bush league.

EDIT:
Video Link

In what universe is the whistle not blown in that?? One where Buffalo's season is on the line.

A different angle of that clearly shows the puck is visible to where the referee was (and to the camera). They showed it on TSNSC lastnight.

It's actually more surprising an NHL referee was in good enough position instead of out in the corner 30 feet from the net.

The goal that should not have counted is Sulzer's goal where he pushed Scrivens across the line. But, the ref was out of position to see that, and it is not reviewable.

Considering the only reason the ref knew it was in the net was because the goal horn came on and the Sabres started celebrating, I'm willing to say he lost sight of it long enough to warrant a whistle.

But nope, not when a team's season is on the line.

If this happened to any other team, or even the other way around, it'd be a huge deal and the league would be rigging it for the Leafs.

1260 was talking about a similar issue today and the lack of calls going the Oilers way. It was enough for Renney to call out the refs and get fined 10g's. Basically no ref wants to be the guy who made a bad call a ruined a potentially playoff berth for a team and therefor they give the team fighting for a playoff appearance the benefit of the doubt when they are playing us basement dwellers. Cant say I really disagree with it.

Haha, true.

Desharnais is pretty heavy and strong for his height though.

BTW-That Sabres goal was good... the puck was always loose. And I am not bias because I would have prefered a Toronto win in order to make their draft pick worse.

lol Pretty impressive ne? In his last 82 games Crosby is 52-83-135.

But don't forget about Stamkos either, hes got a pretty good shot at being just the second player to score 60+ since the lock out and just the 4th in the last 17 years. Pretty safe to say those are the best 3 in the world today (sorry Ovi )
