Just got home from a trip to Sacramento. You do an excellent job of representing the city on this forum. Bravo!

Yep Sacramento, she's a beauty, and you have the skills to bring that out. If this city didn't have to compete for fame in a state that is already saturated with great cities and towns. Her light would shine even brighter some place else because its a very nice city in its own right. Thanks for sharing.

Glad to see Wilford Brimley doing something other than Liberty Medical commercials. Glad to know he's one of us!

this is a very unusual and unique looking tower, and i like it!

If I still lived in California, I'd offer up Fresno.

Actually Fresno isn't that bad, now the downtown area could use some sprucing up. They can have Barstow, or perhaps San Bernardino.

Downtown Fresno is progressing. Several boarded up buildings have reopened, new construction going on including loft apartments, and more.

As I posted on another thread, the draft EIR was just completed for a 17 block project in downtown Fresno by Forest City. I'll link to that thread instead of hijacking this.

Oh I realize they are trying to fix up downtown Fresno. I have friends in that city and often visit the area. I actually like the downtown area, and see a lot of potential. Land wise I don't think most people are aware its pretty large. Many don't realize much of it is decent, but only near the Fulton Mall is where its kind of gritty

Still in order to compete with River Park, downtown Fresno will have to offer up something thats unique that no other part of the city has. This will perhaps bring north side residents to the area. A friend of mine wife works downtown at the courthouse. I know she's looking forward to Fresh & Easy opening up (January 2009 I think).

She also is hoping for a better downtown, but they are northsider in snooty Woodward Lakes and never go there, but only to work. They are hoping something big, but don't put a lot of confidence in the local officials. They think many in local office hasn't realize Fresno has become a large city.

Too many Fresno northsiders are all talk and complaint about downtown.

For example, they complain about paying for parking in garages downtown for concerts/events but then think nothing of whipping out $8-$10 for parking at a Save Mart Center event at Fresno State.
