I would love to see an active Toronto subforum.

I think the first step would be to move or shut down the city compilations thread, and direct all local development talk on Toronto at SSP in this subforum.

The first and really only step has been taken with the creation of this sub-forum. The rest will come with alot of time and patience. A "forum jump" link under Ontario in the Canadian section would be a plus though.

There were less Toronto forumers when I joined the pre-cursor to SSC than there are on SSP today. IMO, Canadian pride just couldn't compete with American postering - only one sub-forum topic for all - and most had already fled worldskyscrapers.com to the save, gated confines of Urbantoronto when I joined.

^ huh? 300 Front West has been in the compilation from the beginning... did you forget to scroll to the right?

Here's a couple more I'll be adding:

1. New Trump

2. Market Wharf (the undulating balconies of fritted glass were a bitch working at such a small size... they are supposed to create a "basket weave" effect... but you get the gist of it).

I'm adding Boutique because it won a huge height increase at the OMB and though few will like the design... it rates a render because it adds a very nice step down from the gigantic Shangri-la across the block.

The fact that it adds some height and density and uses ubiquitous Toronto recipes (brick, glass and a hat) will actually make Shang appear even more spectacular because Boutique is so much more restrained (boring?). I have no problem with this tower (it may even peek its head into waterfront renderings).

The huge dome with I beleive 18' ceilings and spire certainly help Trump lead the pack in height especially over towers of equal story count like the L Tower. Design wise, though many of the slightly smaller projects are certainly winning.

Nice job. This tower is like the offspring of West One and Casa.

MANY updates to the compilation renders... sure it looks the same... but it's not! Have a look.

1. New projects rendered by me include Market Wharf, 45 Charles East (rental), a slick Signature in Cityplace (yes I flipped it 180 degrees so we could see the front ...
in fact I prefer it facing this way)... and my take on the groovy multi-tower Mississauga project ( based name escapes me).
I'm pleased with one... im you are interested, it's based on a newspaper scan posted here:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...cchotel002.jpg

2. Aura is soaring (based on the new 800 foot plus height and thinner profile)

3. new RBC night render

4. New 1 Bloor East

5. New & improved Quantum/Minto

6. 45 Charles East (next door to Casa) has been created from available line drawings - interesting because it is a rare rental project that adds good density next to Casa.

7. Concord Park Place Phase 1

8. Some interesting reno's/re-purposing

9. More height info and (new) some project status info (via construction, approved or sales symbols)

Looks great.

One comment: Solaris = Metrogate. Same project.

The point of the dozens of hours of work above is to help light a fire under discussions about the biggest boom in the country. There are a whack of projects already represented in this thread.

So let's hear from you.

Maldive:

Do you have anything, like as a rendering or any info, for the proposals for Merton Yonge Condos (Cresford) or the condo proposal for Yonge and St. Clair, (north east corner behind the Weston building - can't remember the developer)?
