McBee Station update. Credit to PUSKUNK from Urbanplanet for pic. Publix is the brick building closest to where the pic was taken from and Staples is next to the Publix with brick up one side of it: http://www.flickr.com/photos/puskunk/425931424/
This is a modified photo I shot a few weeks ago. As you can see, I applied a filter technique using Photoshop to create a "film noir" look. In the shot, the bottom three levels of the building are whrere High Cotton Maverick Bar & Grill is located.
G-Man, How about an update on the Pinnacle. Weeks after groundbreaking it's still being used for a parking lot with no sign of construction. Do you think the groundbreaking and removal of a few shrubs was just to appease investors and buy more time?
^^^I honestly have no idea what is up with the Pinnacle on Main project at this time. Hopefully grading will start sometime this week, but I can't guarantee that. The only thing I know is that Bob Ellis is waiting for the city to give him the "go" to start grading. When that happens is beyond me.
Jacob,
Please understand that we too are very anxious to get some dirt moving. I know it seems as if we are crying wolf, but we really are not. This project is not simple and as it is revealed, you will see some of the complexities that have helped to delay it. It is important to realize that these delays are expensive therefore not at all desirable. We anticipate a special announcement about the project composition within the next 10-12 days. The weather is too good right now and we need to get out of the ground. We have been told by the Contractor that his grading sub-contractor will be on site this week.
HOWEVER, the company that bought this a few years ago for $37 million just sold it for a whopping $52 million to another company, which is a ton of money for a site of this size. The development company who just bought the site looks to be a very good high end mixed-use developer, who will do wonders to this site by looking at their other projects.
New massive mixed-use development announced for the Point. Please listen to the audio to the right of this article for information on this massive plan. This is NOT Magnolia Park Town Center, because it is in a different location and is being proposed by a different developer: http://greenvilleonline.com/apps/pbc...INESS/70321013
The Point development will consist of 575,000sf of retail, 600,000sf of office, 2,450 units of residential, 420 rooms of hotel space, 100 units of townhomes, and 10,160 parking spots. HUGE mixed-use development planned for I-85 and Woodruff Road: http://greenvilleonline.com/apps/pbc...INESS/70321019
