Why would you want to silence someone for having an opinion that's different from yours? At some point, we all may find ourselves in small minorities on some issues, and appreciate more grace from those who disagree with us and might not see value in our participation. It's a long life, and there is value in agreeable disagreement.

Not really a difference of opinion when someone is repeating things that are false even after being shown so. This is a transit thread. Not really the place to blab about how one doesn’t support public transit. If you don’t support it that’s fine but you don’t really have much to add here if that’s the case. Especially past the first time it’s mentioned- we know how you feel, it doesn’t need repeating.

I'm not a hard Libertarian. Public transit has a place in the community. I'm generally supportive of micro busing innovations, BRT and light rail in many instances; just not on the beltline. I support heavy rail from downtown to Truist Park. Funding source is always a practical consideration to be discussed.

It’s not an opinion that the city of Atlanta passed a $2.5 billion tax generating legislation in 2016 and are applying it to the streetcar extension on the BeltLine to Ponce. Stop saying otherwise.

You can say the beltline rail is funded 'til you're blue in the face, but I don't believe it. Show me the funding details.

I think people wouldn't be giving you such a hassle if you did a bit of Googling, or looked at things that were previously posted. Anyway, Page 25 outlines exactly how it will be paid for in each upcoming fiscal year:

https://www.itsmarta.com/uploadedFil...ersion_RCM.pdf

This aligns with the projects the MARTA board prioritized, which I previously posted a link to in response to your inquiry. Combine that with the recent announcement that engineering is at 30% and they've executed a contract to get the engineering to 100%.

If he can't do a quick google search, what makes you think he'll click on those links lol? Even if he does, he'll say the numbers don't add up or I'll believe it when I see it....

It started out there, but we've been talking about "beltline rail".

I remember the days when this thread was filled with optimism- optimism about a future with rail from stonecrest to windward. Rail from Athens to Macon. Now we are discussing billions for busses in Gwinnett and ART in atlanta. Maybe we can reminisce about happier times filled with hope and optimism.

I don't want you banned, but truthfully you do not look honest here.

So we can all agree the beltline rail is not "funded"? Just maybe a mile from Jackson St. to Ponce? And even that is just on paper, likely not even shovel ready?

Lmao right??

Mods, ban Libertarian. A complete waste of our time here. At least warn him and put on extended suspension. This is ridiculous.
