Still, these are way better than some. Many of the public housing redevelopment projects left way too much space in between the houses, making them feel way too suburban. That, or the shotgun doubles look like they've been stretched upward (probably because of awkwardly applied HUD design regs).

Here are some market-rate/luxury houses from New Orleans. This is Arabella Station, a former bus/streetcar depot. The barn was adapted for a Whole Foods, while the parking lot was filled with these houses. The alley with garages is very unusual for New Orleans.

Those look just like a lot of the new development going on in Houston in the Houston Heights neighborhood. Hell might even be the some developer.

Not sure if it's been shared here but this is the new Ralph Lauren Madison Avenue flagship women's store. That was only completed about two years ago. They were very sensitive to the architectural heritage on the Upper East Side.
