Obviously they are putting it up just so we can hear your critique about it.
Nah, it's probably required under the development permit for sun shading and they'll have to spend megabucks if it falls into disrepair (like a tree on the roof).
I was trying to think of which condo towers have similar significant louvres or sun shades.
The oldest I could think of was The Pointe (next to the old Westcoast Energy Building), Telus Garden condo (though they are not that prominent), Woodward's (trellises) and the new Cardero condo tower. Any others?
