Also, I visually perceive Comcast 1 as having the higher roof. Not that I think any of this actually matters.
Yeah, I agree with jsbrook. Here is my visualization of where I view the roof for each building:

Not that it really matters but to me that would be referring more to the main mass, the cooling tower in CITC contains the same kind of stuff as the top of tower 1, it's just narrower.

The only thing Hearst Tower has going for it is that it keeps CTC out of the running for the ugliest building Foster has ever designed.
I highly nominate the Comcast Information and Technology Center as not only the ugliest building ever erected in Philadelphia and Pennsylvania, but in the entire world!!! 🤢🤮

Hmm but what else could they have possibly built there? I doubt they could have built anything better...

Think what you want about the building, but this is NOT the "worst looking building in the world."

“Highly nominate”? What does that mean?
And ugliest building in the entire world? You don’t look at many buildings then, do you?

He stares at renderings of the ACC for hours at a time, silently weeping at what could have been.

Kind of all reminds me of the movie 'A Few Good Men':

Quote:
Lt. Weinberg: [sarcastically to Joanne with Danny present, in an empty courtroom after the trial has been adjourned for the day] "I strenuously object?" Is that how it works? Hm? "Objection." "Overruled." "Oh, no, no, no. No, I STRENUOUSLY object." "Oh. Well, if you strenuously object then I should take some time to reconsider."

Which is like saying that the food in that restaurant is terrible, and the portions are too small.

"choifoto: Inside the winter garden at the Comcast Innovation and Technology Center, designed by Foster and Partners. Wood louvers made of ash line the interior volume. On the ceiling, they allow natural light to pass though to the weeping fig trees below. The floor is made of crosscut reclaimed white oak pavers. Semi-reflective etched mirror glass clads the elevator core in counterpoint to the natural materials."

Ok, I dramatically disagree! I think this building looks great (aside from the fact that the roof LOOKS shorter than Comcast Center)! There is no way that this is the ugliest building in the world. The Legal Arts Building in Wilmington is ugly imo when viewed from the North.

It's actually quite beautiful, but it has a odd beauty. It's strikingly beautiful from certain angles. It's best side is looking at it from the west looking east, like standing on Drexel Univ's campus. This is the side of the light tower and the multiple set backs. Second best, from east looking west. However, looking at it from north and south....not as much. It just looks like a rectangular pack of cigs with a few smokes extended out of the pack. Overall I like it, but the "American Commerce Center" would have been aesthetically better looking.
P.S. I'm wondering when they will take the rest of the shrink wrap off of the building or will they just let it work it's way off by itself.
