Today.

One last look at this wall before it gets covered again.

It's starting to be visible from South of the river, this was taken from the 1st Street bridge.

They're working on the 6th floor, the top of which is at 117 feet. The highest level of the podium is 6 floors and 117 feet. So the height of the constructed tower now is the highest the podium level will be. The portion of the podium that fronts Congress Avenue drops down one level to 5 floors and is 90 feet. So the portion that faces Congress still has 3 levels to go.

If that surface was flat and level to the ground, I'd be inclined to ice-skate upon it.

Thanks, Kevin. I missed the "ice" in ice-skate. These old eyes don't see like they used to.

They are getting ready to jump the South tower crane. There are four new tower sections on site now. I rode my bike down this afternoon before the rain hit hoping to see the jump but no luck. However the glass is really coming along and it looks like we will see some facade on the lower portion soon.

Love that copper/wood looking facade even from the little I can see. I am usually not excited about hotel developments, but this building is turning out fantastic so far. Even better when you consider what the early renderings looked like. Original design was horrid then the updated design (thread pic) was better, but used cheap materials. This project went from one of worry with it being so prevalent on Congress to something worth being excited.

I agree. I'm kinda tired of blue glass, but at least it's translucent enough and there are smaller panes where columns and floorplates are so you can see that there are individual floors. I think I'll like the "copper" side better.
