Some comments on the article about Hamburg:

- The city (read: municipal) population is 1,7 million, and not 1,2 million.
- IMO the buildings at Sandtorkai are mostly boring cubes, don't create an urban feel and don't harmonise with each other and the old warehouses across the street.
- The article mentions that most of the flats in the Hafencity will be rentals. That sounds as if they would be affordable, but it is the opposite. IMO there is a great threat that the Hafencity will develop into a district for yuppies and snobs.

@Hourglass: How long have you stayed in Hamburg? What have you seen? What are the reasons you think of Hamburg as a dreary place? I'm always curious to hear opinions on my hometown.
