When do we change this from proposed to demo? It would be music to my eyes.

A photo of actual demo would do it for sure. For now it just seems like fun and games for AFD.

Couldn't see over the wall last night, but it looks like some drilling equipment and other stuff is there now.

Yup. Saw this Saturday night while I was out pedicabbing. Came back to the forum to see what was new.

I know this project has officially "commenced" per the developer. But I'll feel much better to see the hotel gone AND an immediate start to the excavation after the demo. Pauses after demo are not good.

Surely they wouldn't start the foundation drilling without demo of the hotel. That foundation drilling equipment must be for something else.

It could be for breaking up the pavement. That appears to be what they used on the Hanover site.

While demo awaits, the construction contractor filed two permits on Monday - one for the retention system and one for creating two construction entrances.

Site plan #2 for the tower was approved and released today. The elevations are not yet included, so we don't have a final number for the height.

Today is supposedly the last day for AFD to play with their hoses at the hotel. So maybe we'll see some destruction this weekend (or Monday).

I like it! I am not sure if it is just the lighting in the rendering, but the glass looks darker on the bottom half than the top. Also, if you put up a couple of spires on top of this tower, it would begin to resemble Willis Tower a bit, which would be awesome!
