Forget any other city, if this thing was at the Hudson yards everyone would be ringing with joy. Heck if they replaced 30 Hudson yards with this I think people would actually go nuts.

This new design is as clumsy and low grade as the marketing video announcing it. The tickers on the underside of each elemental break look beyond cheap and as out of touch as Fox itself. Very early 2000's technology. Disgraceful in my opinion.

...May I ask you what are top of he line tickers??.."early 2000's technology"?!..hum...I would say well before!also?..maybe should we ban the concrete because it comes from the antique Roma?..Seriously,if all that you get to discredit the tower (on a first rendering)are the tickers, I'm gonna double check Foster's diamonds!

From some angles it may look awkward but others are going to play much better than critics think. There will surely be some adjustments but I'm over the diamonds of Foster, especially the inferior revised ones. Would have it been nice to see the Foster structure built? Yes, but going over it it's not so wonderful that nothing else could be erected in its place, and I believe this Ingles design isn't nearly as bad as the haters say.

This design is nowhere near the quality of 30 Hudson Yards. 30 Hudson manages to pull off the base-body-crown school of skyscraper design in a modern way. It has a beautiful crown and will have the most amazing observation deck outside of Saudi Arabia. Plus it will perfectly complement its shorter twin.

Also, I know 2 WTC only appears to get larger toward the top from certain angles, but are there any completed skyscrapers that pull this look off? I can't think of any.

I wonder if this tower will pursue LEED certification?

This design is stunning . If people Prefer Foster's that's fair enough, though I prefer this. In any event, this is beautiful. I loved 50 HY, but this is way better despite having the same basic idea. I love stepped towers in general. There's a great one on 5th Ave in Harlem that I see every day from Metro North.

Lastly, I really believe that a bank can still commission Foster's tower at the Yards.

Looks like its from the WTC site. Similar layout for tower 7 and wtc3.

As much as this BIG design is interesting I think the Foster design helped the overall spiral vision more than the flat topped Fox HQ.

IMO, the spires where okay, but something about them never really fitted in with the site. WTC2 sure, WTC1 sure, but WTC3 looked somewhat out place, and this being with the cross bracing too. Since they've removed it, and recently, the spires, it looks a little more professional and blends into the site a little better. Before, it was to busy. Now one thing that was a tragedy was WTC1's spire cladding removal, but the changes in WTC2 and 3 seem to work for the better. Theres a sort of elegance about the whole complex depicted in the rendering.
