This really does make it look like 2 separate buildings that intersect. Much better than what I was expecting. Thanks for the great picture.

The light was on all last night and this morning and it looks great! I didn't have my camera on me so here's this iPhone picture that I took last night.

I never thought I would like a "simple" building so much. It appears so basic at first glance, but from the materials to all the small touches, there is something new at every angle and time of day. I love the shot where you can see through the crown a bit and it resembles the same look as Frost behind it. Great, great building design.

Took this last night, when we went to Pleasant Storage Room. Which is now closed! I'm very upset at that news!

I got to take exactly one photo before they turned off the crown at 10:05 pm last night.

That's not fair!

Did they recently add that lower section around the Mechanical part? Cause I don't remember seeing that lit just the Rectangle box.

I wonder if they will have it off for another month before turning it on again. You would think they would go ahead and leave it on. It does make some sort of impact on the night skyline. Not sure really what to make of it yet. I think having multiple colors along each of the panels would look so much better and would make it more interesting Imo with Frost and the super bright glow lines from Bowie, not to mention the One American Center and Citibank or whatever bank that is now that used to be Bank One, we have more than enough white already.

I still haven't seen it lit close up. lol

I sort of like it as is. It reminds me of some of the big office towers in New York. The 383 Madison Tower is one.

Or the Bloomberg Tower in New York.

I used Emporis for years until I found out SSP existed. Very comprehensive, but not up to date on most projects.

I was an editor there for 10 years before they were bought out a few years ago.

Wow! Very cool.

You guys who are more up to date on the Austin market think another business tower will come soon? Beyond what's already been announced, of course.

I'm not sure though signs are looking good. If the courthouse deal does end up with a private component and if it passes my hope is that the tower portion would be a signature tall office highrise at least rivaling that of the Austonian and Independent but would be better in the 700-800 foot range.

Possibly something major at the old post office site but honestly I have no clue what is really going on with that. We haven't heard anything new at all and it's a eyesore just sitting there for what has it been 4 or 5 years now?

Yeah, that's true. It has been a while. Any of you internet sleuths want to do some digging for lazy people like me who don't want to take the time?

Also, if both of those (courthouse private/public and post office site) happen, that'll really beef up the west side that much more (even though these sites are slightly toward the center). The east side has some catching up to do - I'm looking at you, Waller.
