drove by there earlier today and from what i could see, there were two flat-beds, a larger, heavy duty truck (orange with some sort of scaffolding-type extension/arm), and a small excavator. didn't see anyone on site and it didn't appear as if anything has happened as of late.

progress on the other side of broad at lincoln square, however, is moving really well, with the facade on the east side starting to go up. hopefully bart can get his act together and come up with something awesome here that activates the steeet instead of the sky.

Would be awesome if there was something big going on there. That intersection, a year ago, was terrible.

That'd lead to quite the Super Market wars with Sprouts coming in across the street.

Passed by this site on my way to Texas Wieners. There were trailer trucks with construction equipment onboard.

I think it's been speculated previously in this thread that those are being used for the site across the street.

a new construction permit was issued for this lot on monday. no other details i can glean beyond plans were submitted by Bohler Engineering.

for those more familiar with the permitting process, does this mean something legit is afoot?

Ask and you shall receive! any word on whether this is moving forward as previously planned or if adjustments have been made to the overall concept?

I think adjustments have been made. Not 100% sure though.

1. We’re practically neighbors
2. He spoke at my office a couple of weeks back

Smart of him to wait for Lincoln Square to wrap up -- they're doing all of the heavy lifting for him.

Say what you will about his design choices, but I love Blatsein's ambition.
Wish we had a few more like him.

I forget, can this proceed by right or did he receive the needed variances?

At this point I hope he does build the rooftop retail area. We've talked about it enough that I'm sold on it as a cool restaurant destination.

It’s already CMX-5, so I’m pretty sure since he owns the tract it’s his to do with as he pleases

Per the old CDR document, he was looking for some zoning relief (I think it was for the parking aspect). Would any updates have to go through CDR again?

Except that the tower was going to block skyline views, IIRC.
