YAH! I am finally back in Hk. Seeing the completed ifc2 in real life was amazing. I was wayyy better than i thought even after seeing all the pictures you guys posted. Anyways about the promenade thing infront of central. I think it's a bad idea. I feel it would look very strange to have these "old" buildings sitting inffront of the skyline. Just not natural at all.

thnx!! I am talking about the suggested project for the water front shown on page 4 illustrating buildings which reflect Hk's heritage. I just find it kinda fake.

if that project goes, it'll end up pretty far west on the island -- not to worry!

besides, i like that proposal as a "charming" romantic zone that could be like a Xintiandi for HK!

Police Headquarters is a two faced building : glass and stone. I like the glass façade better.
The duality was handled more subtly in NY with the Condé Nast building.

1 Peking Road

One Peking The Bright Spot in Tsimshatsui

Hong Kong, 1st April 2003….. Jones Lang LaSalle, the marketing agent of One Peking, the prime property developed by Glorious Sun Group, is pleased to report that leasing of the latest grade A property in Tsimshatsui is progressing extremely well with a number of agreements concluded for office and restaurant space at the building. The building is attracting strong interest for the remaining space.

Universal Music and Westminster Travel are the latest additions to the tenant list which already covers a diverse portfolio of business. The lease agreements, concluded at market rate, cover a total floor area of over 35,000 sq. ft.

“There is a high concentration of offices, shopping facilities, hotels and other amenities in Tsimshatsui,” said Mr Scott Callender, Head of Kowloon Commercial Division of Jones Lang LaSalle, “making Tsimshatsui a popular location for service industries. Currently the tenants are occupying space in the same district, and this is solid evidence that demands for grade A premises with access to excellent infrastructure network are buoyant.”

One Peking offers 14 storeys of office floors, with a total area of approximately 167,000 sq. ft. All the floors are fitted with optic-fibre backbone, green practices including low-E coated glass which minimises glare, and all features high ceiling as well as a spectacular view over Victoria Harbour.

Strategically located at the junction of Peking Road and Canton Road, One Peking is the latest addition to the “shoppers’ paradise” which attracts high traffic of affluent shoppers and tourists. All the ground-floor shops of One Peking have been leased, housing flagship stores of six prestigious designer labels. A renowned Chinese restaurant has also committed one storey at One Peking, while leasing agreement of a theme restaurant at basement is currently underway.

“One Peking features contemporary exterior design and state-of-the-art technology, it is located in the heart of the shoppers’ paradise, making One Peking one of the most sought-after premises in the market. Supply of new prime offices in Tsimshatsui is limited, we are very confident that the building will be close to 100% occupancy before summer,” concluded Mr Callender.
