The corridor might look impressive, but there isn't really a whole lot of attractive retail there except for the mall next door. The NCIX is good (for me ) but everything else is super generic.

Love the NCIX. The retail will come, it is a work in progress, but they have been building a strong urban foundation now. The Evergreen Line will only continue to make things better.

Located in the triangle between Douglas Road, Gilmore Ave and Halifax St -- across the street from the cemetery.

I'm pretty sure it's been referenced in this thread in the past.

It would be easier to know where the tower is located if they hadn't photoshopped the cemetery out of the photo on the website. Here is a Globalairphoto for reference. It is the triangular lot to the left of the C in Copyright. last time I went by, a few weeks ago, the buildings on south corner of the lot were all cleared out for this development. The buildings in the north part of the lot have also been demolished for the (long-overdue) realignment of Douglas Road so it meets 1st Avenue.

the evergreen line is really transforming the burquitlam area - i don't have pics but the area behind burquitlam plaza for the last few years has been having most of its single dweeling homes knocked down and replaced by condos and townhouses, the area is really looking different and getting a jump on things now before construction of the line even started

anyway one pic of a new development behind safeway along como lake - the 4 or so houses just east of this building are fenced off and look to be demolished any day now to start another large building like this one

pics by me

this is where a gas station and restaurant were - will be where the line starts its descent into the tunnel

view from coq centre roof parking

Apparently 70% sold out in the first two weeks...(approx. 240 of 348 units sold).

Seems that Cressey has bought the Value Village site at Kingsway and Edmonds. Don't imagine it'll be long before a rezoning application is submitted, it's a pretty large parcel.
Don't worry Value Village fans They are planing on moving to a new pad on Queensbourgh by Lowes.

That is a large site, and the city of Burnaby has been hoping for this. Is the pawn shop part of the parcel?

This is the start of the urbanization of Edmonds St.

That is a very large site! I believe the area's official plan calls for the highest density allowable, so towers are a given. Hopefully that pawn shop is included. I've always imagined a sweet flatiron being wedged in there. I also hope there is a large commercial component fronting Edmonds St, with space for at least a large grocery store. Exciting times for my old hood!
