Dude seriously. "Midtown Village" has been the worst rebranding of a neighborhood I've seen.

It’s almost as if our great legacy of a unique moniker for our city’s core is being eroded, purposefully, in favor of a moniker that is overused and tired.

I blame most of it on the media conglomerate inquirer/philly.com/foobooz, etc.
They still to this day use the term ‘Midtown Village’ instead of the Gayborhood because I guess that decision was made one day and they are sticking to it like some soviet comrades that were told so. And they can’t reverse now because of sheer embarrassment that they are wrong.

To be fair, it's not like Philly's is the only gayborhood in the country.

No, but that's still what it's called. I'd even MUCH rather prefer Washington Square West because it's at least geographically descriptive. Maybe even South East Center City (although this is a bit outside it? Maybe even part of East Market?) if they took a cue from the SWCC alternative to Graduate Hospital. Midtown does NOT exist here.

Old Family Court 5-star Hotel will be announced just after the Four Season’s opening press run.

Speculation: J.W.Marriott as the brand.
Not sure about that. It's to be run by Journal Hotels, the manager at Standard in NYC, Hollywood Roosevelt https://www.inquirer.com/real-estate...CLZDc6AmQqPDIM If it was to be a Marriott brand, I'd think a Marriott company would be the manager. Their hotels are presumably managed by Managed by Marriott, MxM for short. MxM. https://news.marriott.com/2016/01/ma...ed-properties/ But the Standard and Roosevelt are great hotels and this would not be a downgrade over a J.W. if this new hotel is anything like them. When is the Four Season's opening press run supposed to be? August?

I think the districts in and around Center City should be updated. More specific.
