Millhouse, I think you are maybe thinking of something else? Construction is nearly complete on Vue on 20th. There are three buildings, and a fourth with 5 live/work units and construction is all but done. One building is already open. I've been meaning to post pictures so I'll try and do that this week.

I think maybe the project you are thinking of is Tower View Apartments on 23rd and Washington - those seemed stalled but have actually resumed in the last month or so with a new sign outside the construction site. Those apartments will be 7 stories with a rooftop pool.

UTAZLoVer, We desperately need some updates from Ogden. I hope you or other locals will be able to get us a few pics over the Holidays. Everyone on the forum always loves to hear from Ogden.

A cool vid from Ogden City's YouTube channel about the old Stockyards Redevelopment. I know they just got an Italian Cycling Manufacturer to commit to moving production to the site.

Here's the website for the Tower View Apartments I was talking about on 23rd & Washington across from the Junction. They just started work on the foundation. I'll try and get pictures this week.

http://www.towerviewapts.com/

It looks like the site just went up so it is pretty bare bones. But just to give you an idea.

Don't get why developers call a 5-story development a "tower".

Technically it's "Tower View," perhaps not saying the building itself is a tower, but it has a view of Ogden's towers, being one block from the Wells Fargo building and two blocks from both the Ben Lomond Hotel and Ogden Municipal Building.

Also, the building was originally supposed to be 7-stories when it was named. It looks like it was scaled back but they kept the name anyways.

Perfectly said. It's not being called a tower, it has a view of towers, and in Ogden's case those "towers" are those UTAZLoVer stated. That would be like calling out a development near an LDS temple with Temple View in it, "Why do they think they're a temple?"

However the term "tower" gets over used with many developments over the years. I remember the office buildings at the Gateway in downtown Salt Lake City when first announced were called "towers" but these buildings were only 5-7 stories.
Suburban cities a lot of times would call their 4-6 story office park developments "towers". The only true tower I would call in the suburbs would be perhaps the 15-story IHC patient tower in Murray.

Perhaps, but then shouldn't it technically be called "towers" view since Ogden has as you said, three towers.

Yep, and every development, store, etc. called Mountain View should actually be called Mountains View, unless they can only see one mountain from their location

Without your smart ass remark you and I both know that this development was referring to themselves as the tower. Do you guys work for this developer?, is that why you guys are making up b******* excuses to justify their misleading name?
The word mountain/s as you used as an example is apples and oranges. At least if the developer chose the name mountain view, there would have been no misunderstanding of what it was referring to.

None of us work for this developer, at least that I know of. And no I wasn't making up a bull shit excuse. Your interpretation was that they are referring to the actual building as a tower other people interpret it as view from the development.

Seriously, why such hostility? It's simply a matter of how everyone interprets it.

I actually have no opinion on the name, I just don't have the ability to think up a witty comment and not say (or type) it

Let's just call it Liberty View and be done with it
