Thanks for the post delts. It is very encouraging to see so much activity in downtown Ogden again. Hopefully Mayor Godfrey will stay in office and keep his vision for redeveloping the city rolling.

Hey Gbb, yeah, I would definately like to see Godfrey remain in office. It would seem he has been one of the most youthfully agressive mayors for Ogden in recent history. I'm also very excited to see the connection of the ski industry and downtown develop even further. Whether that means a gondola or not as proposed, I think Ogden has an extremely bright future for tasteful and attractive development.

The 7 mile expansion in Davis County is needed to better correlate with the opening of the new Legacy Freeway next year between Farmington and Salt Lake City.

Clearfield Breaks Ground on New Lifestyle Center

The Midtown Village has broken ground today up in Clearfield. It's a mix use project just like the one down in Orem. It will take about three years to build it.
The project will add 1.2 million square feet of mix use space to the area.

Hey Goomba, what happened to all the great pics you had already posted?

Matthew Godfrey, the Ogden mayor, is anxious to show a pair of guests his refurbished town. Who better to show it than the man who turned this place upside down, converting a blighted old railroad town into an outdoor adventure mecca that is gaining national attention.

I went and checked out the Junction (the arcade, skydive part) while I was in town this last summer visiting the 'rents and came away somewhat disappointed. The project has nothing for pedestrian access from Wash Blvd. (at least when I was there). The whole thing has a tacky, cheap-Vegas look. Perhaps the worst part is the "bar" in there. Its a cave in relation to the rest of the area, has white walls, and has brighter lights than the bowling alley area.

There are definitely parts of the project that could have been done differently, I agree with you there. However, it is still a big step in a positive direction for downtown Ogden. Once the construction has finished there will be much better pedestrian access into the block from Washington Blvd.
