Patience my friends.

I did not make the rules on this forum though I do have a pet-pieve when something is "suppose" to be in the under construction sub-forum or not.

I work in the construction industry. If I was on this project, it is under construction ever since the shovel first hit the ground. But it is different here therefore it is what it is.

Don't shoot the messenger.

Too late. I'm outside your door right now. Look out the window.

Thanks for the update! Do you think the wall collapse delayed things much?

Out of all the condo projects downtown, this would be the spot I would choose to live in. I think the location is the best (as long as occupy doesn't return).

Skyscraperpage U/C

I sent a request to the mods to have this thread moved to the Highrise Construction sub-forum.

I thought it would fit me well to do so.

I believe the height limit for that lot is 120m.

It's 130 when calculated from Viger street. The hill is pretty steep in that sector as the pics show.

Oh I didn't know that. So then 130m makes sense then.

My question is, why is don't they just say the height on their website or just announce it? Its vexing.

^I guess, only people on SSP/SSC (or anti-height activists on the opposite end of the spectrum) care about the exact height of the building in metres/feet. I doubt most lay people could tell the difference between a 120m and a 130m building.

Unfortunately, the height of the 1000 is probably also calculated from De la Gauchetière, since this is the main address. Calculated from Viger, we might gain a few meters, even though the hill is not as steep as Côte du Beaver Hall. Also, the twins of the ex-Bell HQ and Banque Nationale should also gain a good ten meters when calculated from Viger. But in their case, the main entrance is also on de La Gauchetière. This a "problem" only a city with hills can experience...

Le 1000's real height is actually 211m when calculated from St-Antoine. I remember Serge Lacasse announcing this fact a few years ago on this site.
