Very nice, these photos makes me think of a cross between Hong Kong, and Long Beach, CA.

You mentioned about wanting to live in one of those condos when you became rich. With the oversupply of highrise condos in the area, you can't get one of those bad boys for $150,000 - $200,000?

I'm not sure what the average price of a high-rise condo in Miami is right now, but what you quoted sounds about right. They are going for a lot less than what they were originally offered as. You mentioned the photos making you think of a cross between Hong Kong and Long Beach. Having lived in both L.A. and San Francisco, I think of Miami as a cross between San Francisco, Chicago, and L.A.

Nice capture of the once fastest growing skyline in the nation. I don't even want to know what the vacancy rate is in those condos.

Thanks! I think more skyscrapers come will come eventually. We were lucky to get what we did in the span of time that we did get it. If you go to the Miami page of Emporis, what's on the drawing board is incredible. Our tallest approved project is not even listed there.

That is actually part of my reason for creating this thread.

As one of the contributing photographers to The New Miami the Magic City, this is one of the photos that made me a published photographer. It was used as a comparison photo to aerial shot from a similar angle 12 years ago to document the city's growth.

yep - that's an awesome thread with amazing pics of a fabulous city... I'm astonished...

altho', as I keep saying, such massive development in such a short space of time coupled with the current global economic meltdown is going to lead to a property slump... I suspect many of those new towers will be empty for years to come...

IMO, if this economy/housing market ever rebounds, it will be astounding to see what else gets built here in Miami. This is nothing compared to what has been approved. At one point, Miami had over 75 buildings on Emporis.com either planned, approved, or already built that were over 500 feet tall. It will be interesting to see what all else makes it to construction because we are not done here quite yet.

It wsa a bit scary flying into that rainstorm with no windows, but also fun and exciting. Here is the plane I used on both aerial shoots. I'll do another one at some point, maybe when our office towers come to completion

Thanks, I am hydrogen! That is quite a compliment coming from you - a moderator and photographer yourself. I think my "Miami 2008 - Atlantis Rises Again" thread fell off the website because I hadn't updated it in a while, but there I had ground level shots as well. Here, I just wanted to narrow things down a bit.
