I can not duplicate the soft lightness of a FF with my 7D like that pic or the other dusk/ low light shots. I could take a very good shot but when it comes to low lighting, FF is the way to go.

how did you highlight the truck in the first shot ?, seems a little far to use a flash (even for someone as skilled as you with flash photography)

We just painted the truck with a flash light for the length of the exposure. My buddies have recently gotten right into light painting. Not sure I like it that much, but sometimes you get something cool. We even painted up that giant coal tipple, wouldn't have been nearly as much detail otherwise.

And I'm not sure I'm that skilled with a flash yet, but thanks.

It continually amazes me just how incredibly talented so many of our SSP photographers are! So many of the photos posted here are simply incredible, many of them worthy for the likes of National Geographic and other such magazines!

Thanks. I can't be bothered to stack shots...it's just a straight 30 minute exposure. We were camping, so I just tripped the shutter, then wandered back to camp for a few beers

The compos are a bit crap, but in my defence it was pitch black and I couldn't see a damn thing.
