I know volume of new rooms is what the goal is short term, but Raleigh really needs additional upscale hospitality options. Hopefully the Durham and 21c will help spark some interest.

That's what I thought too. Its been visible from Six Forks and 440 for a few weeks now. Way to be on top of things WRAL.

Stopped by North Hills for lunch today. Here's a few quick cell phone pics. Site work has begun for the AC Hotel. The Dartmouth is visible to the right.[IMG]20151216_134318 by pluguglie435, on Flickr[/IMG]

In this pic you can see the Cardinal to the left, the black steel frame going up is the Allscripts tower, and the site in the foreground is prep for Park Central (100 Plaza). 2016 will be busy for NH!

Very interesting. I had always assumed this project would utilize state and federal historic tax credits, but with so much of it being new construction, I wonder if the time/effort/requisite compliance that would go along with the credits are worth it.

I don't know, but I know the city council was very strict about making sure the Dillon warehouse facade was preserved as part of the project, which you can see in the bottom right. This is going to expand the skyline in a new direction.

I don't hate it. I feel like there's something missing from the roof though, like it should have a crown or some sort of other unique distinguishing feature. I also hope they use that ground floor space facing Union Station for some cool retail/hospitality businesses since that will be the 1st thing people getting off the trains will see. Over all this is a huge win for the Warehouse District. Way to go Kane.

Not since the last city council meeting after some changes were made to it. That was in the fall I think.

Wow, TWO twenty floor towers announced for the block of land southwest of 301 Hillsborough Street in Raleigh. The block currently contains a surface parking lot and the Flying Saucer. Will post more details when we know more. Source

Also, a couple pages back somebody asked about the Moore Square transit center renovations. Council approved it and those begin in February.

This building looks incredible. Love the historic base. Love the modern design that isn't a complete boring rectangle. This will be a landmark building.

New Announcements:

New 28 story Class A office tower coming to North Hills per say New Raleigh twitter.


Also, more condos and retail space to North Hills as well.



North Hills really is becoming Midtown.

Yeah, this is I assume North Hills Tower III that will be on 6 forks next to Tower I. When this gets build North Hills will have towers of 28, 18, 17, 12 and a number of 6-7 floor buildings.
