Undrafted David Desharnais now leads the team in pts. He was in ECHL only 3 years ago.

Scary to think our 2 best scorers (DD and Patches) started in Hamilton last year.

Also I LOVE Emelin... resign him long-term please. Completely owned that idiot named Ryan Malone.

And now with Kostitsyn traded, he's the third longest-serving Habs even though he's a rookie (drafted in 2004).
Since I watch the Habs, I've never seen such a physical D-men wearing this uniform (Komisarek wasn't as physical).
After a few healthy scratches, he is 9th in the league with 196 hits in 52 games and second in hits/game.

Malone hits Emelin from behind... Emelin gets up and take his number. Later in the shift he delivers a solid body check on Malone (deserved a penalty because the puck wasn't even close but the hit itself is perfectly clean).
Then Malone loses his cool and jump him from behind while he's headed to the bench for a change.

Touched a nerve did I?

They need better D (Phaneuf is cancer) and a good goalie and they can do some damage in the playoffs.

No matter what they do i think they have to fire Wilson bring in a new coach and maybe that will help.

Brent Sutter should be available in the offseason.

Check out this beauty of a play. He did practically the same thing against Washington on Saturday.

Komisarek trying to go for the hit instead of playing defense was pretty funny as well. Unfortunately for him, Markov is not there anymore to cover his dumb ass mistakes. This guy sure made some D-men rich (Komisarek, Souray, Streit).

I'm liking the look of this St. Louis Blues team. A young, exciting, well balanced team with solid goal tending. My fav team in the western conference, great future ahead for the Blues. I hope they do well this playoffs!

Blues are a pretty good team this year. The Oilers looked in a for a few minutes before and during the Smyth 5 min boarding penalty, but looked out of place for most of the 3rd...

The only major difference the run and gun hawks and leafs is that the hawks don't have Phaneuf.

I can't believe I'm now routing for the Habs over the Laughs.

On a side note, how did Tampa tank this year? What the hell happened?

Both teams have weak goaltending but there's a huge gap between the Hawks and Leafs in terms of quality of players overall.

Toews > Kessel
Hossa = Lupul
Kane > Grabovski
Sharp > Bozak? Connolly? MacArthur?
Keith > Phaneuf
Seabrook > Gardiner/Schenn
Leddy > Liles

In what universe is a slack-assed floater like Lupul as good as Hossa?

Hossa is not only a scorer, but he is responsible on both ends of the ice, is effective in any situation, and has helped every team he played for become a competitor. Can't say that for Lupul.

Screw Lupul.

Screw Lupul.
Screw that stupid comparison. They contribute to their respective teams with totally different skillsets.
Lupul is only slack assed when the D isn't getting pucks to him! DUH! When all of the Leafs cylinders are running he's world class.
