According to three different sources the height was increased from 570m to 600m (1968ft). The top seems to have been re-designed as well.

Good !
I didn't like the old version.
This one will probably be known as "the diamond".

Wow! I really like this design. Looks way better than the old one. Reminds me of a modern and way taller Tour de la Bourse with a diamond on top.

The original rendering looks a bit like a stretched out version of 2 IFC in Hong Kong.

I like buildings so tall you have to scroll up or down to see the entire tower.

aww, another 21m and they could take the world's tallest by roof height. Someone has to go after the BD, it will most likely be China. Go for it.

eeew, that diamond is retarded looking, hopefully they change it. The original design was also quite shoddy.

That's a lot of karats on that diamond.

I like the body of the tower, but the top is very odd to me. It's beautiful and slim all the way up and then... giant concrete fins and a fake diamond? What?

At least they chose a good city to put it in, the visibility in Tianjin isn't marred by the fog and smog.

Also, with China's economy down the crapper, will the work on this one keep going?

Does the diamond symbol have a specific meaning in Tianjin, or is it there for no reason ?

Too bad about the first design being axed; it was nice and graceful even if it did have a few awkward details. This second version is...interesting. I don't know why the top has been given such a disjointed and visually (and physically) massive crown--really kills the sense of grace and height that the basic form has. Should still look nice from street-level looking up, though.

OK, uhhhh WTF is up with that Diamond? It's hideously tacky and ruined the tower, IMO. I liked the other design waaaay better. Now they are becoming Dubai II, and NOT in a good way.

The tower itself is pretty attractive, but that hideous excuse of a crown ruins it.
