I thought they were just going to paint the concrete white, but it looks to me like they are using some kind of panels. Much better IMHO.

Inside the Scale Model for Mumbai's World Towers

Quote:
Technology's impact on the building industry can be seen in the superslim towers that would have been structurally inconceivable even a decade ago as well as the photorealistic renderings that we've come to expect from starchitects. On a smaller scale, fabrication technology and cheap microcontrollers have changed the game for building sales tools. SkyriseCities recently stopped by Myles Burke Architectural Models, where a high-tech model for The World Towers in Mumbai was being assembled.

I wonder how much that unit goes for. If that's the master bedroom I'd expect more for paying more than $1.5 million, paying more for the views I guess.

I was in Mumbai in August of 2014 - the tower was tall, but still far from topping out. I never got close enough to make a proper estimate or floor count.

Fast-forward now, and I'm back in Mumbai to celebrate New Year's. I was shocked to see the tower still, seemingly, a fair ways from topping out. Like last time, I didn't get a close look, but other towers have been finished and new ones are sprouting with considerable speed.

Perhaps there's a problem with financing? Demand? Labor? I wish I knew, but the Mumbai luxury market is totally opaque to me, just like the skyline on a humid day.

Per CTBUH, this is still on hold as of late 2020.

Two other towers in this development, one was complete, under the name of World Crest. If you look up units for sale, some have been sold.

But seems like the main one, World One (super tall component) is still on hold.

Had to do some digging around for this one, but I found a Indian fella on youtube who stated this 5 months ago:

" World View has just topped out and world one is on hold due to height restrictions by CSMIA "

Also some promotional video for this development:

Now this is the proper way to make a development promotional video. Good looking fella, a nice car, really nice suit and sunglasses. THIS IS how one markets luxury.

^ Thanks for updating us on all these non-US supertall projects. This one ended up losing its supertall status.
