So, since we have not seen that triangle bits so far, we can except this tower to rise another 5-6 floors?

Wait till they install the crown... It'll change everything.

One would hope so, not very impressive so far. But an actual office tower going up in Montreal i guess we should be happy with that alone. But we'd be more excited if it was HIGHER of course.

It's 4 floors high based on renders around page 14-16.

This is by far the tallest office tower built in this city in 22 years. We have no right to complain. It's nice and tall and it's still missing its crown.

And it's one component of a larger development. This tower was never meant to be a landmark.

Sorry, the compraison is impossible to make, considering that Montreal has been on a long decline for ages, and Calgary seems to be living through an upswing with no end in sight...that's where future and optimism seems to be...

That is it - I think what really is odd about Montreal's architecture is the scale! Just think, PVM, 1001 De La Gauch, Tour Deloitte, E-commerce. They are all just bulky and huge!

Montreal has experienced a slower growth than Calgary, not a "long decline",

Sorry, but 22 years is quite a long time to wait for an office building to go up here, to me that makes it quite the landmark, LOL!

I did not forget about that one, however, didn't we taxpayers help finance it so the former landry government could boast about the economy looking good?

No, i think he's right, the long decline has been there since '76. I know someone posted a while back to keep politics out of this thread, BUT, it's just a fact that if you keep talking about separation, everybody will give up on us economically. Notice that almost all of these buildings going up are condos, not office towers. And remember how long it took for Deloite to be the major tenant of that building. I too was all excited about the building boom around the Bell Center, then i went to visit the Toronto page and when you see what's happening THERE, well, you worry when they announce two buildings but only start with one.
