Cool. They wrapped those steel columns seen in post #252 with concrete instead of some cheap material such as stucco.

I noticed that the building is 100% leased. It also says future home of Sales Force. Are they the major tenant or does someone else hold that title?

I'm with you, it's going to be an amazing lobby.

It just struck me that all of the core we are seeing now will remain open to the lobby (although covered with the video screen) as seen in this rendering:

The rendering on the first post shows a type of woven, textured glass facade, like a big basket. But the rendering above showing the lobby just looks like a regular boring glass box.

That rendering does show the "woven" facade. It's difficult to see because you can only see one floor of glass, but look closely at the left side. It's a very suttle effect, but it should look great in person.

It looks like the entire project has been halted after the accident involving two injured workers and fallen scaffolding. Apparently they fell about 40 feet. Their injuries are significant, but I sincerely hope they're both ok.

Thankfully it sounds like both workers will be okay. And, the construction site re-opened today:

Quote:
One of the carpenters has since been released from the hospital while the other is still hospitalized but is expected to make a full recovery, according to Webcor Builders president Jes Pedersen.

The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health investigated the site Friday and gave the green light for work to continue today on the 27-story building, which is adjacent to the new Transbay Transit Center also under construction.

uh, i think they mean 30 story building, which is still far too short considering the rareness of the height limit on the site

Reporters...they don't know the details like we do :p

I just noticed for the first time that the corner of Fremont & Mission is going to be completely open to the outside. The doors will be retracted. A nice little detail that will really open up the lobby.

Thought I'd add some photos since I haven't contributed any in a long time. Hasn't really changed much but it's a slightly different angle.

What happened to the webcam for this project? Would be really interesting to see it progress, now that the lobby is all but done.

They turned it off the day of the scaffolding accident. The cam looked right down on the injured.

So why not turn it back on, now that the injured are expected to make a full recovery?

edit: they turned it on 3/19

I hope wakamesalad gets a photo of this one - scaffolding is all up for the 3rd floor pour. This one is starting to look like a building rather than a site.
