^^ how i love exxagerations. The figure was once 20%(!!!) and this figure was in times when Dubai was fluid and we had the feeling DUbai can't stop anything and bigger projects were still under construction. Most cranes in Downtown Burj Dubai for example dissapearded after the oldtown, Dubai Mall, Burj Dubai and so on were finished.

EDIT: somethings about the demant topic, with building so much space, so many towers, hotels, villas, luxury real estate and so on, Dubai is breaking it's own real estate and hotel market.

I think even 20% was over-inflated. A more appropriate figure (at the height of Dubai construction) was 2%. Although this may seem small, 2% is still a considerable number for just one city.

I like how these towers are so close together, unlike the Burj Dubai.

Placing supertalls so close together makes sense in Dubai, where skyscrapers naturally shade each other, reducing heat intake and thus cooling costs/energy consumption. i bet the streets of the Tallest Block will provide for nice and cool spaces, being in shade most of the day.

And it looks cool.

I still think they should have spread them around the marina. You still want sunlight to enter the rooms and having them so close together here will also make the traffic really bad.

A bit of bad news. 23 Marina has gotten very slow recently and hopefully just a hiccup but barely any cladding progress as well in the last few weeks

The developer may have second thoughts about the crown.
Hopefully it'll be built according to the plan.
