There's a cool, gritty solitude about these pics. Like the warehouses themselves, they're well isolated from the rest of Houston's modernized "prettiness". Gives the city depth and scale.

Are any of these warehouses being redeveloped into condos or offices like in other places around the country? Here in Portland our old warehouse district is now the nicest and most expensive place to live in the city.

Yes, they are, although some are also being bought, torn down and replaced by townhome developments (Frank Liu and his people). About half and half on the eastern edge of DT (or east of DT). Not so much in places like the West End and Rice Military, where the warehouses are being torn down in favor of these townhome developments as well as large shopping complexes.
