Also there was the racquetball club on the roof. Also was the keg in the lower part of the building

Sambas was also a great place I thought, again downstairs but I didn't mind so much as it made me focus on the food

I found this Vancouver Sun review by Kevin Griffin of the new artwork in 745 Thurlow's lobby. It's a painting by local artist Pierre Coupey. Pierre has some image galleries on his website showing the creation and installation of "Untitled XV".

They have now washed the windows on this building and wow, I had never realized how dark green the building is. It looks really good when now finally washed and it makes me wonder what Trump Tower will look like once they finally get to washing it properly.

Sorry but no photos, as I was just walking by.

Oops, I thought Kabam might be in 745 Thurlow but after some more research it seems they are at 1132 Alberni, which is the Carmana Plaza building. Anyway, the sign was eye catching.

***edit*** Kabam is moving to 745 Thurlow from Carmana Plaza.

I wonder what those trees in the entrance of Carmana plaza are, they're beautiful.

Boy, they sure are beautiful !!! They look at first glance like a species of palm, but I don't know of a pinnate palm that will grow here in Vancouver.
They might be New Zealand fern trees but I thought those needed milder winters. Be interesting to go in there if you have the time, and ask around.

Kabam is moving into the 2nd floor space of 745 thurlow, just next door from their current office. So the new sign is indeed on 745 Thurlow property and will go with their new space up the escalators.

I was wondering about that. Thanks for the clarification.

Are they taking the whole space? There was a rumour that Earl's might put a new restaurant up there. I'm guessing it was just that - a rumour.

2 cool things about this shot:

- thought the concrete wall above the fern trees was 745 Thurlow's wall - but it's not (based on the lines/seams), it's Carmana's wall
- the black columns of 745 Thurlow also match the black entranceway to Carmana

Chapters Indigo confirmed to BIV that it is interested in potentially occupying the 16,000-square-foot second floor of 745 Thurlow Street on a temporary basis until it finds a new permanent downtown Vancouver location in the 30,000-square-foot range.

That new bookstore would be rebranded Indigo as the company is transitioning all of its current Chapters stores to that new brand.

A Video Archive - Oct 12, 2012 to Oct 12, 2014

666777-JFK posted over 60 videos https://www.youtube.com/user/666777GG/videos of the demolition, excavation and construction from Oct 12, 2012 up to Oct 12, 2014.
Video Link

I worked at this site from Feb 2015 up to the end of 2015. It's a Post Tensioning Cable project, no fun for coring into these slabs, it was scanned to locate the PT Cables (also rebar and conduits).
When I showed up, stress levels when up for everyone involved. Got the job done with no issues.

I loathe PT cable buildings.

Such a nightmare for conducting TI work after the building is done.
