A crime that McBarge was left to rot for 30 years. At least it's going to be used now.

Yeah, we'll just strap a few outboards on it and it'll be great.

I really don't understand why people think that it's such a big deal. It's a freakin McDonalds on a barge. It's certainly not unique just because it's a floating restaurant.

i noticed from a far some cladding around the old lumiere/DB Bistro/Feenie/Quattro space on west broadway. Wondering if someone else is going to attempt a go with that space.

Would really love it if another big name would come to town but it seems none of them ever have really had a chance. A momofuku or something of that nature would be a cool addition.

I saw that the other day too - but I thought the hoarding was for a bookstore or something.

I think Kidsbooks (a very large single-storey bookstore further west along the street) is moving there. May be temporary, as that block is being redeveloped, IIRC

Chipotle tweaks cooking methods after E. coli outbreak

Now, Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. may be suffering from traits that helped define it. In its annual report in February, the company noted it may be at a higher risk for foodborne illnesses because of its use of “fresh produce and meats rather than frozen,” and its traditional cooking methods,” rather than “automation.”

The Starbucks at 6th and Willow must have closed at the end of December. It's been a while since they closed a Vancouver location. Is that site up for redevelopment?
