Beautiful? From some angles, yeah, I think it is. And I think it's iconic enough that it's an instant identifier of Toronto, or maybe for lots of people, Canada in general.

One of the better angles I've seen. Residential shows a real city.

Definitely. I think most would agree it has "the goods" to be a serious Top 10 Skyline contender, and I think most Top 10 Skyline lists would include it.

I mean, I'm almost certain I could not find at least 10 skylines to rank before Shanghai's and defend every single one of them with a sincere belief they're superior to Shanghai's in beefiness and impressiveness.

And I'm going to seriously question anyone's skyline criteria if they don't think it's a solid contender...

Aura looks good from a distance, especially at night. We just need towers to cover up the bottom 2/3rds.

Good looks and/or iconic status top ten:

1. New York
2. Chicago
3. Hong Kong
4. Sydney
5. San Francisco
6. Melbourne
7. Toronto (not 100% certain, I probably lack objectivity)
8. Seattle
9. Dubai (the beauty of excess, and definitely iconic)
10. Gold Coast (every list needs an entry from left field)

Those first three are almost objectively, undeniably the world's top three skylines, in whatever order. I mean, there really isn't much of an argument against them.

Shanghai's skyline is impressive because it's big and weird and bleak. But beautiful? Iconic? Not in the top ten, in my opinion.
