Maybe it's the fact that this buildings is skinny and primarily concrete, but it looks much taller than it's supposed height in pics

You're never going to get much from a cheap hotel development.

The less one sees of this, the better.

Is it really going to be that ugly and/or out of place ? I'm kinda excited about it. What would have gone better in it's place, ... something taller ? Maybe a more upscale hotel ? I doubt it would be a haven for low-class drug dealers, low-class prostitutes & uneducated thugs & ghetto-trash ? The owners seem to be taking pride in that it will be the world's tallest Holiday Inn. ...

I have some pictures from mid July but my phone is old and the upload cable no longer works so I can't post them, but from what I can see it's very ugly and cold. Typical Kaufman . It's just a massing of cinder blocks and window slots. No facade has went up yet, but I could be wrong now since I haven't been down there for 2 weeks..........

I guess the only saving grace of this tower is that it's at least better then what was there before? The metal grate parking garage that previously occupied this space looked absolutely horrendous

That is one big empty wall! What a lost opportunity for natural light.

You know, I actually really like the massing and proportions of this tower. But the materials and that giant blank wall are atrocious.

I think that the ESB's windows have red frames also ... next time I'm in the city, I'll try to capture some shots .... hopefully, I'll get nice pics of how it interacts with the light from sunset & maybe even blue hour.

They may do some interesting lighting at night on the blank wall. I was just in Baltimore and the downtown HI had some cool green light on it after the baseball game.

I am starting to wonder if the big blank wall was intentional. Maybe they know of a future development next door??
