Having run cable in NMH's Wesley and Passavant I can attest that old hospitals don't upgrade gracefully.

They sit there just blank and empty space. They also have a million cooling units and create tons of noise pollution. I live across from one. The noise is unbearable 24x7x365 and the city will do nothing despite many attempts by frustrated neighbors.

You heard it here first, IMD is the new Versailles!

Belmont canyon has jumped the river in earnest now with multiple new six-12 unit buildings going up in East Avondale (between River and Kennedy) and one under construction West of Kimball with a few more approved or in the pipeline West of the Freeway.

If they are spending $150 million on the south side to restore this just to be a data center, then I'm all the more optimistic for the Uptown Theatre's prospects...
Data centers almost always make money and historic theaters usually do not.

Generally I agree even if there are some head scratchers on a few buildings. The design guidelines mostly doing a good job. 811 Fulton looks to pretty much adhere to the historic district design requirements even though it's outside the boundary.

Really nice. Getting this building in that condition again will be very important for the city and will become a tourist destination.

looks to me in the rendering like they are stripping all the ornate details off the façade of the CCH and will be replacing all that limestone with ugly yellow precast panels... blech

i sure hope youre wrong about that. what reason would they even have to do so? the limestones already there. plus if theyre getting historical preservation tax credits, i assume there are limits to what they can do?

Nah i think that's just the restored limestone. I agree the yellow in the rendering is unsettling, but that's not how real limestone looks in person.
