We haven't had too many night shots of the Memorial yet... The pool lights are on as well as the lighting for the memorial plaza and glade.

So here's one from the webcam.

I have ticket reservations for the memorial on Sept. 24th, so 2 weeks from today!

And yes I know I haven't been doing many updates with photos as of late! I have a new job so I am busy, but I hope to start taking lots of photos again soon!

Larry has the best suit, definitely.

How fitting.

I also love his paternal arm on Daniel Libeskind's shoulder. Like he's saying, "I know you didn't get the circular pedestrian bridge and Tower One windmill that you wanted, but it's ok, son, we kept the ascending spiral, didn't we?"

Is there any symbolism in the NUMBER of trees planted? Just wondering.

Not that I have heard of. There are supposed to be a total of 400 or so, about half of them are already planted.

It would have been nice to have the approximately 2800 or so as the number of victims, but they would have to be pretty tiny to fit them all in. Just that kind of makes you think....

September 11, 2011 In Memory of all the Souls Lost in the World Trade Center In New York, the new Memorial opens:

On September 11, 2001, at 8:46AM the North Tower of the World Trade Center was hit by an airplane. On the 106st floor my brother-in-law Ken Basnicki was there for a meeting.

At 10:27AM the North Tower collapsed. Ken was never heard from again.

Never Forget, God bless America.

Take a snapshot view of your world
One that is sedate and serene
You’re at the top and it’s not a dream
You look out and everything’s fine
And in a New York minute you’re spun on a dime

Suddenly you are face to face
With the limits of Company ambition
And the scars of America’s political marketplace

Ever close your eyes
Ever think why?
Sit, really think and listen
Find a reason for so many to die

No sign of life, it’s all gone
Take a walk in an empty room
Memories come rushing up to loved ones now
Sadness is mixed with war and gloom

You know it never ceases to amaze you and me
This world where we just exist
Is absolutely full of maniacs and crazies
Who demand protection from a well-produced list

You know I can’t help thinking
That one day soon
We will all wake up
We will all be on the moon

Soaring above the heavens
Looking back on what has been
Seeing things we’ve never really seen
Thinking how it all could have been

If only the Moon had stayed up
If only the Sun hadn’t woke
If everyone were late for work
They would have been warned off by the smoke

If Only

Traynor, so sorry to hear about 9/11 hitting so close to home... If I find you're brother in-laws name on the memorial pool in October, I'll be sure to take a photo for you.
