Yeah, that's Hwy 3. Down to one lane but I wouldn't count on that lasting.

Edit: confirmation, it's east of Sparwood, west of Crowsnest Pass.

Calgary has issued mandatory evacuation orders for Mission, Elbow Park, Stanley Park, Roxboro, Rideau and Discovery Ridge.

The armed forces have been called in, they're evacuating people from rooftops in High River.

Also, the road to Sunshine Village is closed. Not a washout, yet. Not exactly a major artery but still... EVERYTHING is shutting down in the mountains.

I have a buddy who is doing the Great Divide trail starting in just over 2 weeks. Basically a 60 day hike from the border up past Grand Cache. Passing through all of these affected areas. I can only imagine how many trails will be washed out or covered in trees.

Safeway at Elbow Dr. has been closed. I don't remember that ever happening before.

If the Bow rises to that level... we have a lot more problems on our hands. It should be a good 10 feet below it, even with the current situation.

You know... the only major highway so far unaffected is #2. I suppose 11 fits into this grouping, but it's really only access into areas that are already closed.

Absolutely mind-boggling.

The Bow, from the Prince's Island bridge. I'm having trouble even visualizing what that normally looks like.

If the peace bridge is under water, downtown is under water.

Yup.

I'm hoping the C-Train isn't affected for the commute home. This morning saw a lot of delay; the door sensors apparently kept getting wet and passengers had to wipe them off before the doors would close.

Yep. Transalta is letting as much water through as they can safely do at all the reservoirs and lakes.

My worry is more about Glenmore Dam. I recall in 2005 there were concerns with its structure especially when the water breached the top of it. And if they figure water levels are going to be higher then I'd be worried.
