Perhaps this was a bit of an audition to bring back yearly shows. I'm much more comfortable with Whitecap running things than leaving it to the city who has mostly shown its better to leave bigscale events to the professionals. I didnt make it out to this show but will be happy to see some more use of the hill. Eventually expanding to a 2-3 day festival somewhere in August would be best case scenario. Not even necessarily country only.
Their onsite event staff were all the cavendish ones except security because they aren’t licenced in NB. Locals were volunteers for selling tokens, beer tent and ticket scanning. They have a few bugs to work out but overall it was a good experience. Definitely will volunteer again.

Comment: The Robert Plant concert in Fredericton at HJB yesterday was fantastic. The guy can still deliver! Honored that he would begin his North American tour in our city. Both Plant and his band spent about a week here in advance, practicing for their tour and getting out and about town. Based on his comments the rock legend really enjoyed it here

Best year so far for the Harvest. Let's hope this is encourages even bigger acts next year for the 30th. I for one am hoping FredRock (or some alternative) comes around too. The city is certainly doing a much better job supporting acts both big and small compared to when I lived here previously.

Even without Plant, the Festival lineup was really impressive!! Im sure they are already have a couple of ideas for the 30th.

As for FredRock, from what Im hearing, I wouldnt hold my breathe. Plus with Area506 doing so well in SJ, I dont think anyone in Freddy would try to split the market with another mid size Rock/Alternative festival.

Now if only Moncton & Halifax could get in the yearly mid size festival market as well...

Speaking of Moncton, the Nickelback show managed to get in the Top 50 Boxscore

Will be a test to see if the Moncton crowd is willing to pay the big bucks. Prices will vary from 99 to 189$ (plus fees)

Saturday night show, looks like I'm a go for this one. Keep missing these two bands each time they come down to Moncton in the past 10 yrs.

Buble tickets are going fast on the venue presale.

I got two tickets for my parents as a christmas gift this morning

This show is a great test for the Moncton Market given the price point. These kind of prices are the only way Avenir is getting top acts given the capacity vs venues in larger cities like Boston, Toronto, Montreal etc.

I admit I was all keen until I logged in and saw the $186 prices... I've blinked, for sure.
