I must say, though, that Comeau was quite noticeable early on tonight. Obviously the team as a whole had a strong first, but he was flying pretty good.

Schneider super solid again for the Canucks, 2-1 over Dallas. They're saying the same things about Cory Schneider that they used to say about Luongo - "quiet in the net", "makes everything look easy". Schneider is now tied for 2nd in the league for save % and has started 3 of the last 4 games for Vancouver.

Neither is your entire team.
And as far as this old sister thing, theres no way you could ever play over five hundred games in a row without getting your ass kicked so he's tougher than you are.

Oilers will be the next Canadian team to win the Stanley Cup. Perhaps making the playoffs or making a run is good enough for a city with a history of sports mediocrity and bandwagon fans that dont know better. You guys can always go back to soccer...lol.

Enjoy the team that never will be. Seriously when is that team ever going to get good?

Also keep it up with bashing the fans and the city, you are really making yourself and your city look good.

Edmonton probably has the only fanbase in the NHL that cheers when their team gets the first overall draft pick.

Hey, Edmonton can't be anymore than three, maybe four more years of top draft picks away from a really competitive team... I mean, can they? It is already getting more than a little strange to hear, "next year this team will be solid". They have to be approaching a record of some kind.

What do you guys have to show for the last four years?

The only fan base!! lol. Im pretty dam sure any city who is in the bottom 5 would cheer if they got a #1 in the lottery Or any city able to trade for the #1 pick. Edmonton has turned the corner and will make the playoffs next year.

Duncan Kieth suspended 5 games for his vicious and unprovoked attack on Daniel Sedin.

You've got good young offensive players, but do you seriously think you can make the play-offs with no defense and a GM that can do nothing but get high draft picks year after year?

Good win tonight though!

So just what's the deal with "Sam the 8-point man Gagner"?
First he goes 42 5-17-22.
Next he explodes for 8-6-14 in 4 games.
But then he goes 3-6-9 in his next 21.

Honestly is the defense the swiss cheese mess it was?

I don't get it, the defense is coming along thanks to a big move by Petry to become a solid NHL D-man.

Whitney, Smid, Petry, Schultz can play on any NHL team.

I don't think the Oilers don't absolutely need to get a marquee d-man, though it would be nice. What they need is to be healthy and as a result play as a group.

Holy fuck, the first line was in beast mode...

Erik Cole already had a hat trick after 5:41 minutes
... that is the fastest hat trick to start a game in franchise history.

With his 30th goal, we now have 2 30 goals scorers... first time since 95-96.
Only Montreal, NY Islanders, Ottawa and Pittsburgh have 2 30+ goals scorer this season.

Also 144 PIM in this game.

You mean like a lot of players? He has improved a lot this year with others parts of his game and put on something like 10 lbs and it shows.

A lot? Sure lots of decent players get hot but not that hot.
Heck even the superstars are hard pressed to match that total. The most points Malkin, Giroux & Stamkos have had in a 4 games stretch is 11 (Kessel did it as well). Spezza & Karlsson had one really hot stretch where they had 12 in 4.

Its not that I expected him to put up points at the same pace as those guys, but I just find it usual that hes regressed all the way back to his pre-breakout levels(scoring wise) is all.

Obviously not 8 pts a game comparison level, but pts per game over various periods.

They just can't put the puck in the net right now. Their game didn't look all that bad today, but obviously that's irrelevant.
