Hey Saskatoon is talking about spending $280 million to replace a cloverleaf with a modern interchange, so who knows.

There are Fed grants available for rail crossings.

Full of enthusiasm! I like it! But seriously while it will take time it will eventually happen. It will have to as Traffic will not be getting any less. The right time to do it was when they built Ring Road but they cheaper out, and now we pay for it everyday. Only a matter of time before someone dies there. Amount of people risking the crossing and the cars and trucks that have hit the trains.

There was far less rail traffic on those lines back when the RR was built.

^I'm with jigglysquishy. I don't think this happens until someone dies. Just like I don't see the Capital Pointe hole getting filled until someone gets hurt and there's a lawsuit against Fortress and the City.

Someone died there in the 90's. That is when they put up the early warning lights. I think it was foggy.

Yes they did and yes it was.

While this thread may be "dead" soon we must remember that the stadium thread was also suppose to have died too. But it happened. This has far more support and effects a great many more people and has potential to be politically motivated especially with Goodale in the city and being the public safety minister.

Goodale has done very little in this term for anyone here and, since he will be 70 early next year, I doubt he runs in the next election. I don't see Trudeau trying to buy much for votes in Sask when he is going to need to buy Quebec. The Liberals are in big trouble there and it's not the Bloc picking up the support. Goodale won't be able to get us much money until at least the next budget. I don't see him being much help at all.

CP and CN don't want to relocate. The city has zero capacity to force them too. Even the feds will be limited in what they can do.

I could see an interchange in 10 years, but relocation is just not going to happen

That's not the point at all, talk to said person after he moves to Regina and he is stuck on the Ring Road because of trains crossing on a major freeway! So this is going to impress him what a progressive city Regina is? I can just hear him talking to friends from where he moved from, what do u think he is telling them about the road situation in Regina!! GET REAL!!!

Someone died in 2001 or 2002 also. Happened at night, my friend was at the front of the line and saw it happen.

Do you have a source for that claim? I read that they were invited to the consultation process, but that is it.

I disagree. They will move if they are fully compensated and they do not lose access to customers. It would probably be safer for them as well. They do not like colliding with semis either.
