The other day was my first time ever visiting Northern Ontario, and I like what I saw. The natural areas are just amazing, and the cities were a lot nicer than we were expecting.
Next trip up north is to VID's city Although it is so far,
Leaving Toronto
Highway 69 north to Sudbury
The Canadian Shield
We found this pump totally by accident on a side road off of Highway 69. There is a sign saying the water is not treated, so you use it at your own risk.
The famous Northern Ontario wilderness scenery. Lakes, and pine trees, and the Canadian shield.
Point Au Baril
The French River
Sudbury
The flags represent the different countries Sudbury residents have come from.
The INCO Superstack. The tallest smoke stack in the western world. 1250 feet high. As high as the Empire state Building.
The Big Nickel.
The view from the Big Nickel. Sudbury is built around hills, so the city is very hilly and has great views.
Copper Cliff. Sudbury's Little Italy, and also a company town, which was built right at the base of the INCO Superstack.
The A.Y. Jackson Lookout at Onaping Falls. 40KM outside of the urban area of Sudbury.
Hey, did you stop in at the Moose? Great wings there.
