That's an amazing picture and we can see just how huge this thing will look when it's done. We can also see why the lower portal pieces at the ends are different than the rest of them, they connect to beams already in place under the semicircular "balcony". Once they are done it probably won't be noticeable after they finish welding and painting them.
I hope they leave as much of that steel as possible exposed, it will look awesome!
BTW I think a while back there was a render posted from almost that exact spot. It would be interesting to compare to the real thing.

I noticed this morning that the portal ribs in place (at least the three on the north side) have guy wires attached for support. I'm curious about the construction sequence - will they start attaching the arch segments as more ribs are put in place, building outwards from the entrance structures, or will all of the ribs go in before working on the arches?
First, 8 upper portal frames get bolted and guyed to their respective place,4 north and 4 south, following an outward-in installation. Each of them get guyed and temporary bracing is held between north and south (on skylight opening).
Then, 8 transition segments (4 north and 4 south) will arrive, each piece has its respective arch piece that will connect the portal frame to an adjacent one.
Bolting and welding begins, load is transfer to abutments and guy wires get removed.
Repeat.

I pondered this. I think that because of the ribs being different lengths on either side, even portals that look identical from the outside are probably structured differently internally.
