Personally I'm not opposed to the program overall. Past years have been very successful. I just think this year they badly missed the mark.

IMO, the purpose of the program is to provide a rationale for shutting down that block of Robson. The actual content of the exhibition is secondary.

Having said that, I would agree that this year's exhibition is pretty bad. The only one worse than that was the shag carpet and plywood display which started the program.

The only displayI really thought was worthwhile was the year they set up tables and had food carts around there, so people could eat outside. Not worth shutting down the street, IMO, but at least it was useful.

This was in the Metro newspaper a few weeks ago:

Few pedestrians pause for Robson Street's 2015 summer plaza

I just wish they'd tear it down early.

They should have done the take-down the day after it was put up. What a waste.

There should be a public burning of this thing. I would be happy to pour some gasoline on it.

Thank god!

They need to leave the road open year-round, move activities to the other side of the gallery. Look at the chaos that happened when Georgia closed on Monday and Robson was closed for this thing - but I guess that's all in Vision's plan, cause traffic nightmares, try to move people to transit. Social engineering at its 'finest'.
