Yes the facelift is “finished”, makes it look even worse if you ask me.

I know right, before at least the design itself was inoffensive.

I know some people like this, but I've never been a fan of the 411 East Wisconsin Center in Milwaukee. It seems lazy, like the architect handed the developer a sheet of graph paper and said, "here you go, build this."

also, this was a trend for awhile that I never liked--attaching a "restaurant-in-the-round" to the top of a hotel, like a UFO just landed on it (this is the Hyatt in Milwaukee):

YES!!! I hate that as well, we in Canada have the Harbour Center in Vancouver.

Harbour Center.Com

It also has a very prominent place on the waterfront.

^damn you beat me too it. Until I moved to Vancouver I had assumed it was a tower obscured by a building.

I don't understand harbor centre. Let's have a building. No wait, a tower. No, a building. No a tower. Wait, lets have a buildower! No, a towlding!

Chungking Mansions, Hong Kong.

So ugly, I almost love it.

The Economist compared it to the Mos Eisley cantina in the original Star Wars and quotes anthropologist Gordon Mathews: "whereas the illegalities in Chungking Mansions are widely known, the wondrousness of the place is not."

As architecture is obviously subjective I know some people like this building but I sure don't. The saddest thing is, it's just finishing construction in my hometown. It's as though the architect liked a particular style of architecture and then decided to add a different style, and then another, and finally said, "fuck it, i'll just mix them all together"

, when I first saw it I thought the same thing seeing it in person is a very surreal thing.
