Several months ago they announced that it would hold off a while due to market conditions.

PS, I worked in that existing building for several months in the 90s. It's at least B-.

hans, seattle has an unlimited height limit in some areas, 600 in others; and 500. Must 've meant Bellevue. And as a former Colorado resident, the Denver Big 3 (those are all right around 700 feet) were built in the early-mid 80's as a result of the Colorado oil boom, and there are over 150 high rises (admittedly most pretty darn ugly) in Denver.

My apologies, I meant the city of Bellevue has to approve higher zoning heights higher than the current 450ft. I was posting on the Seattle forum just before I posted my Belleuve comment and got confused.

Does anybody want me to take pictures of the Bellevue Towers from the LA Fitness? I've been watching construction of this project very closely. This project is very well managed and they are adding 1 floor every 1.5 weeks. Supposedly, Bellevue Towers hopes for one floor per week once everything is completely above ground.

In comparison to the Westin Tower, Bellevue Towers has a massive amount of square footage. I think each tower is considerably larger in square footage on each floor compared to the Westin. The lower 5 or 6 floors of the Westin are obviously very fat but the tower portion is long and skinny.

It's just a beast of a project that doesn't get much attention.

Yeah please, I wish I could see the project from above. I am also waiting for their supposed "webcam" which was due out last year. *yawn*

I will take some shots of The Bellevue Towers from inside LA Fitness. Within a couple weeks the project will be above the 3rd floor gym of LA Fitness. It very interesting to see how the cement is poured. Each floor of each tower has a ton of square footage.

After looking closely at the Westin Tower, I've changed my mind. The Westin tower is massive. It looks slender from the east and west side. North and South it's huge.

The Bellevue Towers parking garage is simply massive. I think it's 5-7 floors. I will get a good shot tomorrow of the garage.

Once the Safeway Avalon at Meydenbauer is complete 2 more towers just like the Westin will be going up on the old Safeway lot. At least 5, 40 story towers in a one block radius.

The Bellevue Towers may turn out to be the gem of downtown Bellevue.

Does anybody know if the Lincoln Square 2 project on the Safeway lot includes the California Pizza Kitchen, Social Security Building and Bank of America lots? These 3 buildings face the Galleria and The Bellevue Towers.

I'm trying to get an idea of the scale of the new towers on the Safeway lot.

No, it's only the safeway lot, the scan design lot, and that small building south of BAM. Kemper doesn't own that lot across from the Galleria. I hope that site gets developed during the next cycle though, it's a prime spot.

I drove into Bellevue recently on 405 from the north and would like to propose a new nickname: "Little Dubai" There were so many cranes!!! It was almost enough to bring tears to my eyes! Now if they would raise their height limit...

I agree with ya M'sFan! I drive through dt Bellevue every day on my way to work and I'm always impressed with how many cranes there are. Might be that they're all so close together, but it's pretty crazy... Bellevue's going to look great!

These are 2 weeks old already. Bravern the 12 story is very close to ground level the 24 story part has about 20 ft to go. City Center is moving quickly and they were laying steel girders where the plaza will be and had started the elevator shafts. I didn't get over Ashwood Commons. They were also pouring concrete at the Hanover Tower.

ya, look at that gaint parking lott too right next to city center! thats a primo spot for bellevues tallest tower which should be built if they someday raise height limits...
