(I tore my ACL in March, had surgery on October 1st and will spend 9 months in rehab before I can snowboard again. So, I don't actually hate you guys, but seeing those pictures makes me sad).

Was at Louise Saturday, great day, rarely do you get a powder day for your first day of the season! Going to Revy in 2 weeks, they have ridiculous snow already!

Can't surf either. Or swim just yet (other than with a pull-buoy, so no legs). I actually went to Costa Rica last May, but couldn't spend much time in the ocean, because kicking hurts like hell and I can't get up on a surf board with my knee for probably several more months.
Lesson- don't mess up your knees.

Heading back home to the beautiful Okanagan for a week between Christmas and new years, so alongside copious amounts of food and booze I'm hoping we can hit up Silver Star, Big White-out and if I'm really lucky I can leave the S.O. with the folks, borrow my dad's truck and take an overnight trip down to Nelson for some powder action at Whitewater

Sunshine was ok. After the weekend skiing out, they need a good 6 inches by next weekend to step up the game. The new chair will be amazing on those cold days where you questioned your sanity for doing loops on the old one.
Amazing weekend at Revy! I think I may have a new favourite hill now. Lined up at 6:30AM for the gondola, was several hundred, maybe even a thousand people in line by the time the gondola started up at 8:30. Fantastic snow and with the temperature inversion the weather was great, it got warmer the higher up we went. Fresh tracks all Saturday morning, had to go into the glades and trees in the afternoon to find more untracked pow. Was pretty tracked out Sunday, groomers were pretty choppy but the snow was still soft so it was a good day to go fast.
Yesterday we couldn't resist the beautiful blue skies and so we drove up to Whistler to start our ski season! It turned out to be an amazing day, despite only 23% of the runs being open so far. All photos are taken with a cell phone.
First run of the year as soon as the lifts started running!
Conditions were great on Whistler side with lots of soft snow.
They also have the Peak Chair open, although much of the high-alpine is still closed. The view from top is still superb, as always.
Can't wait for the Harmony and Symphony bowls to open soon!
We also checked out the conditions on Blackcomb's side. Few photos from Peak2Peak gondola.
Blackcomb only opened last week and the conditions were not yet ideal. We had few nice runs, but I would stay on Whistler side until few more snow dumps.
Did night owl skiing on Cypress Mountain last evening. Amazing conditions with temperatures below 0 degrees and lots of nice light powder snow. Snow line was at around 800 meters and above that it was a winter wonderland. You could definitely tell that they had just received a 75cm dump in just 24 hours!
Winter wonderland
Small coulds over the Cypress bowl.
Peak chair is open and snow is terrific.
On top of Mount Stracthan.
I have already taken Wednesday off to go hit some slopes up in Whistler! Weather should be sunny with lots of pow!
