The New Pornographers Reveal Festival Lineup Details

The New Pornographers will be joined by a slew of musician friends when they present the first-ever Stanley Park Singing Exhibition this summer.

Vancouver's indie darlings, who created the two-night festival in their home city, have put together a lineup that includes Andrew Bird, Stevie Jackson of Belle & Sebastian and Deerhoof.

Neko Case, Destroyer and the Evaporators, all acts featuring members of The New Pornographers, are also on the bill.

The New Pornographers themselves will headline the second night of the festival, which takes over the Malkin Bowl amphitheatre on August 31 and September 1.

Tickets, priced at $37 a day, go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster.

Exclusive T-shirts and other merchandise will also be sold at the event, with all the profits going to the ALS Society Of Canada and the Urban Native Youth Association.

Here is the Stanley Park Singing Exhibition lineup:

Aug. 31
• Neko Case
• Destroyer
• Andrew Bird
• Deerhoof
• The Evaporators

Sept. 1
• The New Pornographers
• Stevie Jackson (Belle And Sebastian)
• The 1900s
• Visqueen
• Special guest TBA

Destroyer would be a little odd in a festival setting. Still, definitely going to the first day for Bejar and Deerhoof.

Anyone have any thoughts on the lineup for the second day? I'm kind of done with the New Pornographers for now, but are any of the other bands any good?

where exactly do these concerts happen at Stanley Park????

I've always wondered why nobody has held a concert at Vanier Park yet, or at least why it hasn't even been suggested (of course, public backlash)....but imagine 150,000 people gathering there on the grass, it'll be like a mini-Hyde Park for concerts (live 8):
