The shadows at times can be welcoming. Anybody who knows NY, will know that the summers are brutal with lots of humidity, and that bright sun that doesn't give up. The shadows that buildings provide, if anything, are a luxury. A little shadow every-once in a while are good for heat illness prevention.

They will get their sun. Judging from some of the photos of these community fighters or workweek protesters complexion, they don't go out enough in the sun. They've been spending too much time in the shadows. They don't have nice tans either. So if they are going to talk the talk, they have to walk the walk.

Wow, I was just wondering about that SOM model the other day. I wonder where the Instagram poster got that rendering from. Just how solid are these “plans” for a megatall? Visionary, conceptual, or is there an actual proposal? I have so many questions! Anyway, if NYC does get a megatall I hope the design is a little more inspired than that blue glass tube.

I don't know about the height. The perspective in that rendering is a little off, so it's hard to say. It's around the height of the CP Tower judging from the model.

Most actual proposals of that height, at least outside of New York, don't get built in the US. This one at least was far along enough that they did testing with the building model. I don't think it was just a rendering for the sake of marketing or some other such waste of time.

Anyway, the skyline is changing as it is...

Finally! so excited to see it without the blue film. I think with the film off this tower is going to start to really look way better.
It's like when you go skiing with ski goggles on then take them off.

I expect the facade to be the nicest thing about this tower.

i am surprised by the cladding. I think it will make a difference compared to the more blue glass towers coming up these days. Glad to see that cladding is surpassing the mechanical levels above 220 CPS (about 1050ft tall). Cant wait until this reaches Willis Tower height. it will be just mechanical levels and the parapet from that point.
