The fire was apparently started by a welder. I suspevted that cause I had seen them arc welding.

The sparks fell down on top of the bin. Not sure why the bin was there or why it wasn't covered.

Furthermore, I have learned why the News crew was there. Not necessarily because of the fire... a far more serious incident apparently happened.

This morning a steel rod fell down and took out a chunk of the sidewalk. As they were covering that story, the fire started. So the news people were actually covering two stories at once. Perfect timing.

This week is truly crazy. Now we've got steel rods falling. Someone is going to get hurt.

I realize every construction story has its ups and downs but this is getting a bit ridiculous

so that was what the cop was saying Monday night about 10 buildings in the area being looked at for falling glass. Did the windows fly out of that one shown in the picture?

I noticed that in that cbc article, it referred to Shangri-la as being 62 stories tall. Does this mean anything official?

^i dont think that was the issue. i've counted 61 stories(59 levels) PLUS a form at the top but no concrete has been poured. my guess is that it's for the installation for the glass panels

Exactly the developer sets the floors. The highest occuppied floor is numbered 61. I'm not even sure why I still bother trying to convince people. I'll get even more proof for you and thats it. I'm done with this thread.

You people make me wanna puke. Developer sets the floors, in this case at 61. How do I know? Because we have a primary contact right here on the forums, and his screen-name is Jlousa.

I'll take his word over third hand information passed from orange-vested dude to weird forumer to us any day. Who knows how many gutters that info went through before it came to us.
